Oatmeal Drop Cookies

From OLD recipe in Betty Crocker's  -attributed to Hollywood actress.  Adapted for large batch... needs to be refigured for small batches.

Mix together thoroughly:

1 Cup Soft Shortening

2 1/2 Cups Dark Brown Sugar

4 Eggs

3/4 Cup Molasses

Sift Together and Stir in:

3 1/2 Cups Sifted Gold Medal Four

2tsp. Soda

2 tsp. Salt

2 tsp. Cinnamon

Stir in:

4 cups rolled oats

1 cup cut-up nuts (optional)

2 cups cut-up raisins

Drop Rounded teaspoonfuls about 2" apart on lightly greased baking sheet.  Bake until lightly browned.

Temperature: 400 (mod. hot oven)

Time: Bake 8 to 10 min.

Amount: About 10 doz. 2 1/2" cookies
